Well, the last shuttle is off,the end of a great era. Our new president wants NASA's new director to spend more time making us look good in the middle east. I remember when John Kennedy said we were going to the moon. Now we won't be able to afford a trip to Riviera Beach. What would JFK say? I guess someone has a bunch of money in oil futures.

I just received a message from Sue Anderson Morris, that Coach Harry Davis's wife, Shirley, passed away today...don't know any details...keep Amanda & Downy in your thoughts...they have lost both parents in 8 months as well as Amanda's husband...very sad.

It just dawned on me( I'm a little slow at times)that this is THE year when the majority of 1969'ers turn one of the big ones 60....however, I've seen quite a few of you recently and I have to say you're still lookin' good....Normally I would not even want to think about it, but I retire 2 days prior to my "six-o" soooooo I say bring it on!!.....Brenda, after May 31st I will not have the same email address. I'll get with you.

Good to see you too Glenda...The Clewiston Inn is a favorite of Glen and mine....Great Dining... We've had alot of fun times there over the years..... I don't think a Retirement/B'day bash is for me. I know Glen has something up his sleeve so we will be celebrating with family and close friends. The only ones missing will be Mama and Mike.....You take care.

On this memorial day, 2011. I salute my brothers that gave the ultimate sacrifice for all of us. I only hope we never forget those that came before us and our classmates and friends that gave their lives for all of us. I am proud to have served , and want to thank the families of those that never came home.

So sad to hear of Carolyn Burns Nehls passing on Saturday suddenly...she was class of '67 and sister of Susan Burns, class of '69 and Bubba Burns, class of '70...leaves a daughter Brenda Nehls. Also Chip Branch passed away Saturday...no details yet.

Brenda, Thanks for keeping this site going, you have done such a great job. My family and I had a GREAT Thanksgiving, so much to be greatful for. Don't know how many of you know or remember my brother Rusty Holcomb, but just wanted to share a bit of good news. After many years of being single, he is getting married to a wonderful lady on Dec. 3, 2011. Rusty has 2 grown son's from his 1st marriage and is grandfather to 2 beautiful 4 year old granddaughters and 1 very handsom grandson 8 days old, born Nov. 17, 2012. This next marrage with also bring 3 great kids, who Rusty is just crazy about and they love him very much. What a great way to start the new year. Merry Christmas to everyone, Diana

Brenda,
You've done a great job keeping this site running. I don't check it that often, but when I do, I find myself on it for an hour! I hope everyone eventually discovers it and signs up. I love reading the latest news on everyone.
Robert and I are married 32 years this month. We have 5 children and with my latest grandson, Noah, we have 7 grandchildren. Robert works in the nuclear industry and is away from home quite a bit which leaves me free to pursue just about anything. I love bird watching, kayaking when I can and reading. I also do a little graphic work and photo restoration. I also teach a bible study to a very dear group of ladies. I still live near all my family which I love :) I hope one day to make it to a class reunion.
